Abstract: The main purpose of this article was to review a series of studies (n =25) on the morphological characteristics of male volleyball players. Four main findings emerged from our review: (1) the élite players are taller, heavier, and with a higher fat-free mass than the low-level athletes. (2) The body fat percentage of male players is between 7.8 % - 15.6 %. (3) the middle blockers and opposite hitters are the tallest and heaviest players, whereas the libero players are the smallest and the lightest. (4) the taller players were more efficient than the shorter ones at the attack.
