Abstract: The purpose of this work is to study antibiotic residues in raw milk collected at a collection centre in the Bouira region. The study was based on a survey of the 30 veterinary practitioners and 30 breeders in the region, followed by an analysis of experimental data on antibiotic residues in milk using a rapid residue detection technique using the Beta star combo test. The results of the questionnaire survey showed that mastitis is the most common infectious disease in the region and Beta-ctamines are the most common antibiotic families used by veterinarians in treatment. The investigation also revealed that the majority of breeders are informed by veterinarians of the necessary waiting time. The results of analyses of experimental data on antibiotic residues in milk, carried out by a Kit Beta Star® Combo, revealed the low presence of antibiotic residues in raw milk collected in the region. The quantities of contaminated milk are estimated at 2.06% of the total quantity collected. The causes of this low presence can be explained by the awareness of veterinarians and breeders in relation to the good practices of antibiotic therapy.
