Résumé: This study aims to examine the role of social media in enhancing the motivation of first-year English language students at Akli Mohand Oulhadj University of Bouira. The main objective is to demonstrate the positive impact of these digital tools and explore their potential integration into an academic setting. To achieve this objective, a questionnaire was distributed to students in order to collect both quantitative and qualitative data, analyzed using a mixed-methods approach. The results reveal that all students use social media on a daily basis, as it has become an integral part of their lives. The majority of respondents also reported using these platforms for educational purposes, particularly to improve their English learning. Furthermore, the data indicate that social media plays a significant role in boosting motivation to learn English as a foreign language.
