dc.description.abstractNowadays, English has become an important tool as it is an international language, but many students show a limited interest in learning it. This study aims to investigate the factors contributing to the lack of interest in learning ESP among second year Biology students at the University of Bouira. A Descriptive research design was adopted, using structured questionnaires to collect quantitative data. The aim is to assess students’ attitudes, motivation levels, and perceived challenges related To ESP learning. The target population includes second-year Biology students, with a representative sample of 40 students selected to ensure manageable data collection while maintaining validity. Data were gathered through a structured questionnaire including closed-ended, open-ended, and multiple-choice questions. The analysis revealed some challenges insufficient class time, irrelevance of course content to their field, and demotivation due to the approaches, methods, and materials used by the teachers. These interrelated factors collectively contribute to students’ disengagement .The study recommends some improvements: extending contact hours, aligning curriculum content more closely with biological sciences, and incorporating interactive teaching strategies and resources.en_US
