The automatic generation of questions with the same level of difficulty.

Abstract

The automatic generation of questions and answers with an equivalent level of dif f iculty represents a major challenge in the field of research on automated assessments. This work aims to design and develop a web application capable of creating a question bank containing a large number of items that are homogeneous in terms of complexity. The generation process is based on distinguishing between static (common) elements and variable (modifiable) elements within the question and answer texts. Although the appli cation is designed to be extensible particularly in its support for variable content areas this system marks an important step toward the full automation of personalized and fair assessment generation.
