Abstract: This master’s thesis presents a comprehensive structural study of an 8-story reinforced concrete residential building (R+8) located in a high seismic zone (zone V). The primary objective is to insure ductile and stable structural system incorporates a mixed lateral load resisting system, combing reinforced concrete shear walls (to resist horizontal forces) and moment resisting frames (columns and beams) for vertical load transfer. The structural design was performed in strict accordance with the Algerian concrete code (CBA 93/ BAEL 91) and the updated Algerian seismic design code (RPA 2024). Linear static and dynamic response spectrum analyses were carried out using ETABS 2021. A raft foundation was selected to ensure uniform load distribution onto the soil and minimize differential settlements. The study concludes that the proposed structure successfully meets the stability, drift, and strength requirements mandated by the latest seismic regulations.
